Tsavorite

The chemical name for tsavorite is chromium-vanadium-calcium-aluminum garnet, and it is a delightful delicate green color due to the presence of traces of chromium and vanadium. Originally from Kenya's Shafer National Park, it was discovered in the late 1960s by geologist Campbell Bridges, who brought the stone to New York in 1967, and in the early 1970s the American jeweler Tiffany & Co. named the stone "tsavorite" and marketed it worldwide.
